Clacton mostly relies on tourist trade to develop its income apart from Farming. It's new enterprise outside town is built by Brook Park Management Co ltd
in London Road, Clacton-on-Sea
The Tesco store
will be limited to 6,810 square metres and without a Petrol Station,
but will run for 24 hours,
which means
a) we might get Home Delivery via the Internet and
b) Tesco Lorries will be delivering new food each day increasing the traffic on the already
busy A133 Wheely by-pass.
There will also be B&Q delivery lorries every Monday to supply this store.
B&Q's
area is limited to 6,040 square metres.
A total of 5.4 Hectares not the original 60 acres.
There is also appear to be two fast food type restaurants planned for the site.Tendring Town Planning decision
But no-one seems to want to publicize the Retail Park
on the Internet!!!Despite the B&Q Store closing down on the 23rd June and
re-opening in Brook Park on the 25th June there has been no changes to the B&Q websiteIt just has Paper posters out side the A133 Roundabout.
Tesco has not listed it as a no new store opening on the 27th June, as per the paper posters outside the A133 Roundabout built specially to take the retail park traffic in 2003.
No announcements as to the two franchises on the other two buildings on the site have been made.
The Builders Web site Britton Construction is still "under construction" with blank pages.
Streetmap. co.uk does not show the new roundabout or the Retail site which has been under
construction since 2003.Mulitmap used by B&Q to show the location of their new stores does not recognise
either the roundabout on the A133 or the Retail Park. The site does :-
A) not even have a recognised postcode to the address in London Road, Clacton-on-Sea.
It's actual location is just before Jubilee Road, on the London road as you can see by the picture.
It only has small street signs to direct traffic.
I have put together a map of the new location
until either the developer or Tendring District Council
gets someone to update their maps or provides their own.
